Tri Pictures

I realize this post is about a week and a day short of posting! In many ways I still can't believe that it's finished! You'll find the very short version of the story here as I'm posting in between work projects. That's me #950!
This is my transition area.
Sorta like my locker in between events. Such a complicated deal...

Paulina and I!
I haven't seen her since college!
It was so wild running into her at a cycling training in Richardson.

I'm in this group somewhere...
The water WAS SOOOOOO FREAKIN' COLD! I can't even thinking about it....it was painful, icky, murky and it literally took my breath way!
If you squint you'll see me about to run over the kayak! Seriously, if they seem me coming get the heck out of my way! I couldn't see inches in front of me.
Warm body and freezing ass cold water = foggy goggles!

Rounding the last bit of the 300 meters.
Does it look cold? WELL....IT WAS!

Ok, incredibly ROUGH picture of me.... No matter! I'm headed out of the water to the biking portion. I couldn't hardly move my legs after swimming. My muscles were painfully frozen.
I"m headed out on the 6 mile cycling portion. I had a mild panic attack about not getting up the first hill and I almost quit because of my pride. I did have to jog my bike up the first hill but never had to hop off again! I even made it up the monster hill that I was most worried about! That was so totally Jesus!

Event #2 DOWN!!!! Now on to the 2 M jog/walk! By the time I racked my bike I couldn't hardly feel my legs. Walking up the course for walking portion felt like I was carrying two 50lb children on each leg. I moved slowly but I got there...

Almost there!!!!!

This photo almost has me in tears each time I see it!
Thank you Nicole and Margo for documenting this for me!

Post Race photo with my super cool King Tut Tri Medal...
Ok it was more like a KEY CHAIN but heck I wore it anyway!

Post Post Race headed back to my car. Check out all the bikes!!!!

I can't thank you enough for all the support that was given to me during this training and triathlon! I'm overwhelmed by the love that has been gifted to me. Ok, I can't start crying again...I love y'all!

Pre Race

It's 11pm. Currently packing my bag for tomorrow. I can't believe it's finally here.

I know I've been really quiet this week and it was mostly due to a minor/major freak on Tuesday night. I went, with a friend, to check out the bike course and literally had a panic attack when I realized that I wasn't ready nor prepared for this race. She was sweet to point out that sanctification....sucks!!!

For the course of my life I've always put forth minimum effort and have expected maximum results. The first time I got to see the results of honest hard work was when I was training with Mike (aka Sir Chadwick). Anyhow, long story short.... I tried to quit the triathlon. Thankfully, people like my sister and Sir Chadwick wouldn't let me.

I'll have to share more tomorrow POST TRIATHLON!!!

My wave starts at 7:05am. Water temperature is expected to be in the very low 60's. Please, pray that both in my heart and mind that my focus will be for the glory of God. He's give me the desire to do this thing....and I'm doing it!!!

I love y'all. I can't even tell you how much my heart swells in remembering the support that has been poured into me. You too are all a gift from God.

Quick Post!

My delicious sister sends me a email today. She writes "I need one!!! I'm talking about the guy.....not the bike. :) LOL"

This is what she was referring to!
I couldn't agree more!!! She's got good taste!

And, FOR REAL I wouldn't care how bad my bike seat was hurting my girl parts... if this man was cycling next to me I'd ride until my legs fell off my body!

Cheater, Cheater, Pumpkin Eater

sooooooo, liiiikkkkke. yeeeaaaahhhhh.................... I didn't eat at home all day yesterday! I know!! I know!!! Total Cheater!!! I didn't even get home yesterday until 9:30pm. Didn't pack a lunch, had to work through lunch so i ran to subway then after work I had to head over to Richardson for a "first timers" triathlon clinic. (which was awesome the people seem really nice!)

AND!!! This Friday we're celebrating my lovie's (Renatta) birthday at Razzzzooooo's!!!! Margarita suggested that I just go but eat beforehand. I almost punched her in the throat for suggesting such madness!!

I have a plan for next week. I'm cooking all weekend long for the next week. Not having a meal plan is the killer! I found a few things online that'll help me plan and organize my meals. I'll let you know which ones I liked best.

I'll be a cookin' momma this weekend!

My first tri is less than 2 weeks away!!!!
WHO ME?!?!?

I received my tri suit yesterday. I don't really know what to say about it other than "It was probably made/designed by a skinny minny!!!" seriously who runs hot pink threaded stripes down a full figured body?!?! WHO?!?!? And, to make matters worse they didn't do it just once but 3 times on each side!!!! Each stripe accentuates each and every wobbly bit!!

Pictures to come.
........Mmmmmaybe I'll do a video that way you won't be able to see a still shot of me standing there like a hot pink dork!!

My sister was sent this and she decided to share the love with me. Now, I'm sharing with you...

I hope you laughed as much as I did!

sadly, Uyen was privy to seeing me gag like this last week over Roddey's grassy vomit!

New Challenge

I've been thinking about how much time, money and enjoyment I get from dining out.
I love going out to eat.
I love spending time with friends and family over a great meal (or even a bad meal).
I love spending money....
I love being lazy about not cooking.
I love instant gratification.
I love being in control.
I love eating what I want when I want it.
I love not having to work hard for my food.

I can't even tell you how hard that was to admit.

So, my challenge............. drum roll please!!!

Between Monday - Friday I will challenge myself to only have one meal "out". I know it sounds crazy yet at the same time it's crazy that I'd even have to challenge myself this way!

These are the rules:
Only one meal out between Monday - Friday
Rules are flexible if I'm having a working lunch or have been asked out on a date.

***what do y'all think???

I woke feeling pretty neglected and beat down this morning. And, honestly, I had no intention of sharing any of this today.

One of my biggest concerns is my first Triathlon on April 19th. I know this is going to sound so dumb but I'm sure many of you will be able to relate. I've mostly been worried about what people are going to think when they see me in a suit... OR! what if the course is too difficult on the cycling portion and I'm unable to finish?

God, in His infinite wisdom and cleverness, used facebook to get my butt in gear. I noticed on the top right hand corner of my page that there was a advertisement for TriJungle, a triathlon accessory site. I decided to check out the site, then was inspired to google "plus size tri suits" which took me to to this site. While on that site I found myself reading down the message board and was discouraged to find that most the suits were still to small for me. I continued reading and was completely encouraged when I noticed that one user had found a company called Junonia which carried exactly what I needed!!!! Here's a picture of the suit I'll be wearing. I know it's a bit flashy but I'll take what I can get right now. The suit has been ordered and it's being shipped to me in 6-10 business days! *so nervous!*

Ok, last bit of inspiration.... While on the first site I also found an article called "Never To Big To Tri" needless to say...it was exactly what I needed. His story moved me to tears.

I know that I've pasted a million and one hyperlinks, sorrrry!! I tried to keep this post short and sweet....

Next Step. Register for the Triathlon - TODAY!

There's so much construction happening at my office today I can hardly think clearly!! Why the heck are we even hear?! A crew is currently demolishing our kitchen area and with every bang, hammer and buzz it feels like they're 2 inches from my head as opposed to the 20 feet that they actually are...
